About

Thank you for taking the time to explore The Pomegranate Fund.

We wanted to set up this foundation in lieu of receiving gifts for our wedding so that there will always be a platform for us to give tzedakah (charity) to the causes that are important to us. The opportunity to share this dream of ours with our closest friends and family seemed too good to be true.

We have grown up in families that were able to nurture our dreams and ambitions, and now as we start a new family together we want to be able to share some of the opportunities that we had with others who have not been given the start that we were.

As a couple we hope to fulfill many mitzvot in our lives together. It is therefore, really special that the surname which we will share, historically translates from Polish to ‘many seeds’ and is symbolically represented by the pomegranate and of the 613 achievable mizvot one hopes to fulfill in their lifetime.

Giving charity or tzedakah is just one mitzvah and it is considered even more special when given anonymously. This is one of the reasons we have chosen not to call our fund after ourselves but rather by a symbol of our dedication to continue performing mitzvot in the future.
